My Chains Are Gone
My chief desire in all my writings, is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and make Him beautiful and glorious in the eyes of people; and to promote the increase of repentance, faith, and holiness upon earth - J. C. Ryle (1816-1900)

Symbols Of Christmas

Wrapping all our presents for family and friends;
a symbol of Christ’s royal birth: God’s love this message sends.

Grace said at the table; special at Christmas time;
a symbol of Christ’s worth to us: heads bowed a thankful sign.

Lovely wreath of holly; sharp leaves and berries red;
a symbol of Christ’s crown of thorns placed cruelly on His head.

Common Christmas candy; red stripe on plain white cane;
a symbol of Christ’s wounded flesh: reminds us of Man’s shame.

Carols proclaim our God; our deepest need thus stirred;
a symbol of Christ’s glory told and sung till all have heard.

To church at Christmastime and often through the year;
a symbol of Christ’s honour due from those who, Him, revere.
