My Chains Are Gone
My chief desire in all my writings, is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and make Him beautiful and glorious in the eyes of people; and to promote the increase of repentance, faith, and holiness upon earth - J. C. Ryle (1816-1900)

Prayer Is Not A Substitute

PRAYER
is not a
substitute
for work;
it is a desperate effort to work further
and to be efficient
beyond the range
of one’s own powers.
It is not the lazy
who are most
inclined to prayer;
those pray most
who care most
and who,
having
worked
hard,
find it
intolerable
to be defeated.
